A seminar on how sustainability and corporate social responsibility will play a greater role in the meetings, incentives and corporate events industry is being organised. ‘Green Meetings: From Buzz to Industry Requirement’ will be held on January 29 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Eric Ricaurte, CEO of Greenview, sustainability consultant for the hospitality and meetings industry, and research associate at the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research, will lead the seminar.

Hospitality industry consultancy Craft House and Energy Resources Management are organising the all-day seminar and workshop, which is supported by Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong and InvestHK among others.

Yvette Jong, Founder and Managing Director of Craft House, said: “This seminar is a unique opportunity for MICE professionals and companies in Asia to learn about best practices of organising, conducting and communicating sustainability and social responsibility in the MICE industry.”

The event will show how event planners, corporate buyers and venue operators can align their sustainability programmes to new international standards such as the APEX/ASTM Sustainable Meeting Standards, ISO 20121 for Event Sustainability Management Systems, and the Global Reporting Initiative Event Organiser Sector Supplement.
