Experts agree more needs to be done in the region to reduce the environmental impact of events and make them more sustainable

It’s impossible to be perfect, but easy to make a difference. We don’t tell people to ‘go green’, but they need to know the pros and cons. Yet we still face basic challenges - it’s easier to maintain bad habits because clients aren’t requesting recycling and other green measures. Too many organisers still believe that more paper, more bottled water and more cold air- conditioning will add value, or won’t donate food because it takes more effort and they worry about liability issues. Instead of thinking creatively, they believe an abundance of giveaways justifies ticket cost.
